Questions You May Have About Joining Avon…
There is a R100 registration cost to join once you have placed your first order.
It is NOT paid upfront.
What happens is that Avon deducts the joining fee from your first discount/commission.
That way it makes it easy for anyone to join and start selling without having to find the R100 to join upfront.
It’s just nice and convenient for everyone that way 🙂
👉 Admin fee of R27 with every order you place – If your order value is R2500+ the admin fee is removed.
👉 Brochure fee of R15.90 - This is only on your first order per month. This is to supply you with 2x of the latest brochures.
Avon representatives are not paid directly – your customers pay you the full price as advertised in the books, and Avon discounts you on the advertised prices, and you keep the difference. It’s basically a wholesale-retail concept.
New representatives start at a 20% discount/commission, but all representatives are compensated using a sliding scale based on the volume of sales that you make. The more you sell, the larger your percentage discount/commission will be.
The bottom end of the scale is 15%, and it goes up to 32%, depending on how much you sell.
The discount/commission rate is adjusted quarterly based upon your sales for the previous quarter and uses the new rate for the next quarter.
You can order as often as you want throughout a given month. The more you sell, the more money you make. Just keep the following in mind:
The minimum order value is R595
If you submit orders below R595, the system will try to merge it with other submitted orders, so that together they can meet the minimum value.
Orders will only be processed if:
They are paid for in full (Cash Account)
Covered by sufficient credit from your Avon credit facility (Credit Accounts)
Note that if you are granted a credit facility with Avon, payment terms are strictly 21 days from the invoice date (meaning, once the order is processed and shipped).
At registration (or reinstatement of inactive representatives) credit is granted only if an ITC Credit check is passed. If it fails, Avon assigns a cash account and you will need to pay the full amount of your orders upfront to release them.
Cash account holders may apply for credit after 6x months of trading – that is, only counting months where you had invoiced orders that were released to you.
Credit account holders may apply for increases to their credit facility after every 4x months of trading – that is, only counting months where you had invoiced orders that were released to you.
There are a number of ways to address this issue.
If you can afford a smaller amount, then place small orders rather than large ones. (smallest remains R595 due to the minimum value rule). This way you can at least start earning some money.
Ask your customers to give you the money when they place orders with you. If you collect the cash as you get the orders, it will be easier to release your orders (You simply use the customer’s cash 😉)
You may need to ask friends or family to help you out initially. Be sure to pay back your angel investors 😉
On ordering products, you will receive an invoice from Avon which must be paid within 21 days. We have various payment options that can be used:
